JEFFREY ALLEN SCOTT
The Story...
Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, Jeffrey Scott grew up in a family that was heavily influenced by music. By the age of 9 he was attempting musical compositions and recording his creations on a doubledeck cassette recorder using household items as instruments.
By age 13, with the help of his father, he had been exposed to saxophone, piano, bass guitar, acoustic and electric guitar, and the drums. "Somewhere around 13 and obsession kicked in and all I wanted to do is figure out how to get all this music in my head out in a form I could share with others. I was always in choirs groing up and singing solos in front of people since I was 6 years old, but there was more happening inside my head."
At the age of 18, he moved to Portland, Oregon where he has spent his adult life. He had the opportunity study with music at Warner Pacific College, including his work with accomplished composer Dr. Walter B. Saul. "Dr. Saul was the first to help me make sense of the things I was hearing. By the time I took my first written orchestral piece to him, I had written and recorded well over 250 songs."
After graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2001, with 2 B.A. degrees in 4 years, he began to work in the educational world, teaching for several years while continuing to write music and direct music for a church music program. One the side he bagan to develop music albums for himself and others while cutting his teeth on DAW/ recording programs.
He then took on his first scoring opportunity for Adriel Henderson, film director, which was a great success and turned into a new passion for writing. " I scored 3 shorts for Adriel in which I had a chance to write a piece for suspense, drama and comedy. It was one of the most fun things I have ever done!"
Today, Jeffrey has written and recorded, produced and scored hundreds of projects, and launched the Allen Center for Performing Arts, which is a program that believes that everyone should have acces to quality music and arts education. "This company is still in the formational stages, but I refuse to sit and do nothing, when I know that intentional quality music exposure can make all the difference in the world for an individual. We are working with some very intelligent minds to design this, but we are definitely figuring out what we are doing along the way."
